10 things my dog taught me about being human

dog1. Wait patiently for people.

2. Look opponents and friends in the eye.

3. Spend as much time as possible with people you love.

4. When you want something really bad, keep trying. As I’m writing this post by the front porch window, my dog keeps poking his nose through the curtains giving me the ol’ puppy dog eyes, hoping I’ll let him out.

5. When someone is sad, lick their face. Just kidding.

.

6. Try to figure out what people are really saying.

7. Look forward to exercise.

8. Happiness is contagious. Nothing turns a bad day around faster than my dog wagging his tail and hopping around like crazy when I get home.

9. When something startles you, turn around and run like hell.

10. Find unbelievable joy in small stuff. Even eating dry dog food or chewing a rawhide gives my dog intense pleasure. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Instead, wag your whole body with joy when you receive it.

This was such a cute post. I totally agree with everything, but the licking a sick person’s face. I’m so exicted for you and your new blog!!!

I love number 8 the best. Not only because its true, but because it also reminds me that there’s nothing better than to see my husband smile at me when he walks in the door from work. I mean, here he’s had a really crappy day at work (its always a crappy day at work for him!) but he still looks happy to see me. Its os nice!
