Tiny Project: Remember to Switch the Laundry

laundryI’m a big fan of washing a load of laundry in the morning and switching it to the dryer before bed.

The problem I have is forgetting about it – and discovering a hard, musty lump of wet clothes a few days later.

Now, I put a plastic hanger over my doorknob which signals: Laundry in progress.

Its a blue hanger, to be specific. Problem solved.

Do you have a Tiny Project I can share with readers? If so, email me at melissa {at} peaceandprojects {dot} com. (Thwarting spammers with that email address, so bear with me.)

Great idea! Are you going to be featuring tiny projects on a regular basis?

Yes! To keep the content here fresh (like my laundry). Please send me tiny projects (to my email) and if I use them I will link to your site.

We have CFL’s in our laundry room. We leave a light on (pennies) and the door to the laundry room ajar, and then it’s easy for us to remember that we were doing laundry. Love the hanger idea though.

Or, you could live in an apartment where you HAVE to remember to go get your laundry, otherwise someone will steal it. To each his own!

Love the tiny projects idea…if you’ve ever heard of flylady (she’s a little corny) her concept of “you can do anything for 15 minutes” is similar and very effective.

I feel compelled to caution you and ask you to rethink putting clothes in the dryer before bed or when you’re not home. The dangers of a dryer catching fire while your family is gone (or far worse, asleep!) are far too great. I make it a practice to run the dryer only when I can keep an eye on it. Just some food for thought from the daughter of a firefighter :)

I wasn’t really aware of the fire danger, so thanks for the comment.
