My Favorite Quotes from the 2013 SCBWI Conference

Truthfully, I considered skipping this year’s SCBWI summer conference.

The annual event happens to fall between three annual family vacations, all of which are back to back — all of which I have no control over changing the dates.

In deciding to go, I was, once again, away from home for four weekends straight. That’s a bit psychotic, right?

Thankfully, I did go. (The fact that it’s in Los Angeles, California, helps.) While the schedule wasn’t exactly smooth, I had one of the best times, and left feeling very hopeful about the year ahead. I learned so much. Every session I decided to attend seemed to speak directly to my work.

It was kind-of a magical thing.

Since the conference, I’ve delved into another serious revision of ARROWS.

While I focus on my revision, here are a few of my favorite quotes from the conference.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
